Long Term Plans

I haven’t been updating much lately and I wanted to just jump on and explain what’s been happening.  I completed the 3d program at Santa Rosa Junior College last week, and will start attending San Francisco’s Academy of Art University this summer.

After a lot of intense consideration, I have decided to put my time and effort into learning everything I can about this craft and using my knowledge to produce a full-blown movie trailer for The Last Mice.  I will be working on this trailer over the next couple years and want to make it so impressive that I will have studios lining up to fund the full motion picture.

This means I have a lot of characters and scenes I need to create, and I’m hoping that a 2-3 minute trailer will truly encapsulate the story I want to tell in a nut-shell and drive home a winning concept.  Wish me luck and thank you to everyone who has been following this blog.  Stay tuned for something amazing!

Only 5 minutes per frame!

Image

All day today I’ve been experimenting with render settings and I’m happy to announce that this frame took just under 5 minutes to render!  This is amazing, because the image I posted earlier today in the previous post took almost 18 minutes!  That means I can now create content that looks great at high resolution 3 times faster…. which means more content for the fans.  Good stuff.

Kickstarter started!

The Last Mice Kickstarter project has been launched! I’m trying to raise $2500 in 20 days to help fund The Last Mice. Please share this Kickstarter with your friends and let’s see if we can make it happen!

The Last Mice – Face Rig Complete

Last tutorial on face morphs, I promise.  If you skip to 3:38 in this video, you can see how this dynamic rig system makes Max’s face instantly come to life when I move several control points at once.

As you may have noticed, the link to my Kickstarter preview page in the previous post was broken.  That’s fixed now, so go check it out.  Thanks Jenny!
